Calum McCarron

Corporate event photographer and videographer with over fourteen years behind the lens.

Portrait of Calum McCarron, corporate event photographer and videographer

The beginning

My career started in the edit suite, cutting my teeth as a picture editor at ITV. From there I moved behind the camera, first documenting kids' sports, rugby, football, gymnastics and school sports days, learning to anticipate the decisive moment in chaotic, unpredictable environments.

That led to assisting established professionals on shoots with A-list celebrities, political figures and public figures, where I absorbed the full craft of professional photography from the ground up.

Today

With over fourteen years behind the lens, I've learned that the best images and films don't just document moments, they tell stories that last. Specialising in corporate and brand work alongside events and weddings, I bring the same eye for authentic detail to a boardroom announcement as I do to a first dance. I work best when I'm embedded in a team, building trust with subjects and stakeholders alike, and turning briefs into visual narratives that genuinely reflect the people and organisations behind them.

Off the clock, I'm a committed petrolhead, maintaining and cleaning my car and motorbike, and an equally enthusiastic cyclist, golfer and snowboarder. That same obsessive attention to detail and drive to get things right carries into everything I shoot.

KitShow

For those who care about the gear.

A professional full-frame stills and video kit: fast prime lenses and workhorse zooms, on- and off-camera lighting for any room, and professional-grade audio for talking heads, panels and podcasts. Multi-camera capability for stages and interviews, gimbal and tripod for clean motion, and a drone for aerials where the venue and permissions allow.

Everything is backed up on-site to dual cards, then edited in Premiere Pro, Lightroom and After Effects. Redundant bodies, batteries and storage come as standard, so the shot is never missed to a flat battery or a full card.
